Studentenwerk dormitories

Another really important to do thing before arriving in Kiel is having accommodation, especially in the Winter Semester, since there are not many places available and it can become a true headache.

The easiest way is to apply for a room in a dormitory, which are administered by Studentenwerk. It is one of the cheapest options and when you apply on time, there are many choices, such as single room with common kitchen, shared flat, private flat, etc.

To see the accomodation options available, clic here.

In case you want to apply to the Studentenwerk dorms, when the window opens, clic on the top right of the formular and change the language to English.

In case that you get a room, you will receive an e-mail with your contract, which you must send signed in 2 copies and pay a deposit of 300€ via bank transfer (or in worst case once you arrived). If you transferred the deposit beforehand, be sure to bring the printed receipt.

When you have made the payment, contact the people in the following link to get your keys. Try to contact them before, just to be prepared, here.
