Residence permit

So, if you are already here in Kiel, probably you checked if you needed or not a visa.

 

Regardless of that, you need a residence permit to stay here.

​

Our advice is to request an appointment as soon as possible with the Imigration Office (In German: Zuwanderungsabteilung), via email to the following address: Zuwanderungsabteilung@kiel.de. Phone: 0431/901-4299.

On the date of your appointment, you need to go to this place:

In a general way, you need to have these documents:

​

• Valid passport.

• Your confirmation of registration issued by the registration authority.

• Letter of admission from the German university,

• Health insurance policy,

• Documents that prove how you intend to finance your living expenses while you are studying (proof of sufficient financial resources),

•  Card to pay the residence permit fee (please ask your Immigration Offiice in advance how much the rates are).

 

You need to fill in a form with many details. Probably you will get it with your appoiment confirmation.
