Public Library

There is a public library in Kiel, where you can borrow books and DVDs, among others. You can also use the wi-fi for free. There are many itens for those who want to learn or improve the German language.

Many busses go to this bus stop "Andreas-Gayk  Straße" and it it just one bus stop after the hauptbahnhof (main station).

 

You need to register and then get a card to borrow the items. It is very fast and you just need to show your student card and your address. Every semester you need to show your new student card to renew your register. The best thing is that it is free for students!

The process to borrow and give it back is made by the use of a machine (once you have your card already).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To borrow: choose Ausleihe and pass your card. After that, you need to pass the bar code of the item that you are taking. Print the record. With this paper you can check the date that you need to bring the item back or renew to stay longer. If you stay longer without renewing it, you will have to pay a fine.

 

To give it back: choose Rückgabe and pass the bar code of the item. The record will be printed. After that, just leave the item in one of the shelves close to you (on the side of the machine).
