Discounts with student card

Students get discounts at the cinema, theatre, gym or other activities. Where prices are displayed, search for the word Ermäßigung (which means reduction/ discount), otherwise don’t be afraid to ask if there is any reduction for students (Gibt es Ermäßigung für Studenten?)

AMAZON PRIME

 

There are plenty of opportunities that you can use as student. First of all you get the chance to use Amazon Prime for free for one year. You just need your university email account and then register through Amazon.de.

Amazon Deutschland offers the possibility to use their webpage in English, so that you don’t have to struggle with the language. On the webpage Amazon Student you can find out other opportunities reserved to students (textbooks, streaming of videos and music). You can even earn 5€ credit for each friend that joins Amazon Student. You can find Amazon student here.

DEUTSCHE BAHN

 

If you like travelling we suggest you to get a Bahncard. Deutsche Bahn offers usually Bahncard 25 (you get 25% discount on all the tickets) or Bahncard 50 (50% discount on the tickets, but special offers are excluded for this discount).

 

If you are a student you get a discount on the annual price for the Bahncard (in 2016 Bahncard 25 is 41€), therefore it might may pay off quickly.

 

There is an English website version where you can order the Bahncard here but we recommend you to go directly to the info point offices of Deutsche Bahn, located at the Central Station. There, it would be much more easy for you to communicate in English and give a proof of your student status so to get the Bahncard at a lower price.
